Welcome to the New Tatting Corner Blog

Better late than never, some say!  I’d agree, since I purchased the Tatting Corner from its previous owner in July 2016, reopened it in August 2016, and it’s now January 2017.  Time just got away from me – I’ve been so busy with the shopping side of things that I kind of forgot about this blog.

I’d like to take a few minutes to tell you about us.  We are The Craft Corner, LLC, the new owners of the Tatting Corner.  There’s me – Lisa Adams, CEO; my husband – Charles Adams, VP; and my brother-in-law – Dale Adams, VP.  And there’s Michael, my 14 year old son.  He doesn’t have a position right now, unless you count chief order-puller, especially for embroidery floss orders.  He loves to pull embroidery floss!

My background:  I exited corporate America in May 2015, after having been a buyer for 15+ years in major automotive tier 1 and automotive aftermarket companies.  It was a rewarding job, but it was taking its toll on me.  70 to 80 hour work weeks, conference calls at 10 or 11 p.m. each night with China, extended travel overseas – I was ready to leave, to be honest.

And then the Tatting Corner came on the market.  And I looked at it, and I thought long and hard about it, and I told my family that I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and do something different.  So we did.  And here we are.

I’m already adding new things to the Tatting Corner.  I’ve developed relationships with shuttle manufacturers in Japan and Russia.  We’ve added custom crochet hooks and seam rippers to our catalog, made by my husband and brother-in-law.  I’ve just reached an agreement to be the only US hobby supplier that will have Penny 20 and Penny Multi threads from Italy.  And right now, I’m sitting in a hotel room in San Jose, California, attending The National Needlearts Association’s Winter Trade Show, looking for new products to offer.

Our next website will be www.adamscraftcorner.com, slated to go live in a few months.  We’ll offer specialty finished wood products there (pens, bottle stoppers, letter openers, coffee grinders, cutting boards, etc.).  And something else is planned for that website, although I can’t go into it yet.

We’re here to stay.  Thank you for being strong supporters of the Tatting Corner.  We appreciate each and every one of you.  If you have any questions or comments, leave them below, or contact me privately at lisa@tattingcorner.com.
