Recently, I was incredibly honored when I received an email from Lyn Morton’s publishing company, asking if I would be interested in having Lyn submit a blog entry for the Designer of the Week program. I couldn’t reply fast enough! The entry below penned by Lyn features her Circle of Life design, from her new book The Art of Tatting Jewelry. (And before you ask, yes, I have requested information on purchasing the book to make it available to you!)
When I was in the Turkish city of Mugla I tripped on a pavement and fell hurting my face quite badly. No sunbathing for the rest of my holiday but a great shady spot near the pool and lots of tatting. Great interest was shown by fellow guests not only in my bruises but what I was making. I made about 20 or so of the Circle of Life patterns while teaching a few of the ladies to tat. Their rewards were the circles we made together. We had lots of laughs and I made some friends; particularly the 4 year old little girl called Daisy who felt it was her duty to come and ask me if I was OK about once every hour. What joy tatting is. It lightens even our darkest hours.

Wow, this is wonderful! I was contacted by The GMC Group about doing a book review on Lyn’s newest book, and this is the very pattern that I had chosen. It is so neat to read the story of how this pattern came to be named such!
Thanks for sharing!!
I love Lyn Morton’s books! It’s fun to read about how a design came about!
I love Lyn’s books and have a lot of them except this new one, I can’t wait to order it.
