Sneak Peek at Tatting Corner Tat Days 2021!

Well, 2020 was challenging, wasn’t it? And we’re not quite out of the woods yet, either…but Tatting Corner Tat Days 2021 is in the planning stages, and I have a real goodie for you today – pictures of all of the projects that will be taught!

Normally, I like to get these posted in December. But for those that have been following my Facebook posts, and/or my email newsletters, you know what my life has been like for the past four months. For those that don’t know, my husband had triple bypass surgery on October 26, 2020 (my birthday present from him!), and little did we know that we were going to be on a rollercoaster of hospitalizations for the next four months. Hopefully, he’s on the road to a complete recovery now, but there’s the reason for the lateness of this post.

So, plans are being made, teachers have been selected, and the hotel arrangements are being worked out right now. I’m planning to open registration in mid- to late-April. The dates are July 8 through 10 of this year, so mark your calendars. The cost will be $95, same as last year, and will include all of your classes (you’ll pay your kit fees to the teachers), plus lunches. We started something last year that I think we will be repeating this year, and that is a sit down banquet with a live auction after on Friday evening. If you deferred your attendance last year to this year, you’ll get a special code to register for this year (since I still need your class selections), and it won’t charge you for your registration fee.

And now, on to our teacher list:

K Boniface

Sharon Fawns

Kaye Judt

Mike Lyon

Karey Solomon

Shawna Wachs

Teresa Woods

We’ll have a couple of seminars this year: Mike Lyon will be making a presentation on using Inkscape (if you want to bring your tablet or laptop and follow along while he presents, you can), and Teresa Woods will be making a presentation on the Tatters Across Time proficiency program. We may add a session of encasing tatting in resin with Mike if there’s sufficient time to do it, as well.

Without further ado, here are the pictures you’ve been waiting for!

  1. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get over to America to attend one of these. Would be great to have an online version though for those of us who can’t make it (the potential seminar on encasing tatting in resin sounds interesting).

  2. July seems too soon for me, and my college kids will be home. Is the fire hall air conditioned?
How long before the event do we need to decide? Thinking I won’t be ready to say yea till it is very close…

    1. Hi! We’re actually not in a fire hall like Lodi, we’re in the Civic Center here in Chesterfield (Indiana). Yes, the civic center is air conditioned. Registration will be open until the week before the event – but be aware that late registrants may not get the classes they want. 🙂 – Lisa

  3. I REALLY want to encase some tatting in resin. I am learning it, but don’t yet have the confidence to put something I worked on forever in resin and mess it up. I WILL be coming to the Tat Days this year. Can’t wait!
